Adapting To The New Era Of Teaching
With changing times, there has been an upgrade in the teaching model across the country. Suddenly, everyone has adopted the digital classroom model, with PC learning being at the center of this new era of teaching. As part of our Dell for education initiative, we began webinars to help teachers upgrade their skillset and incorporate PC enabled learning.
Over 75-90 minutes, you can learn about engaging ideas, effective online teaching, design & prioritizing learning outcomes, the efficacy of teaching models, rethinking assessments, and what to avoid during an online session.
These are the key takeaways from our training-
For your transition
- Learn about the online medium before you conduct a class on it. Familiarise yourself with its features and tools. Run a trial class beforehand.
- Switch on your camera for a personal touch. Encourage people to answer in class. Respond to their queries.
- Prepare for the students that do not have uninterrupted internet access or might be busy, and pre-record every session.
For interactive lessons
- Be concise by breaking the lesson into smaller parts. Provide students with reading materials such as videos and PDFs.
- Create an E-learning library with multiple topics and up-to-date information. Use engaging videos and audio clips to capture attention.
- Engage the class through interactive assignments, quizzes, and polls, to measure the progress made.
For difficulties, you might face
- Some students learn via audio, others via video. Include multiple formats in your teaching presentation to engage with all students.
- Educate yourself about the possible technical issues that might arise to solve the student's doubts. Ensure you provide open access for online documents.
To help children deal with the isolation of online learning, coordinate group activities, assignments, and presentations for interactive learning.
