Four Things Every Teacher Should Follow While Teaching

"Not just students, the PC offers a platform for creativity and innovation to the teachers as well helping them experiment with new methodologies to encourage learning."

 - Ms. Aakansha Bakshi - Joint Director Seedling International Academy

The role of a teacher remains constant in a student's life. Research shows that quality teachers make a difference not only in a student's academic performance but also in their lifetime success.[1] Passionate, inspiring and effective teachers lay the foundation for quality education.

By taking a few steps in the right direction using a PC, a teacher can uplift a student's relationship with education and learning.

1. Teach with an Interactive Activity

Students who apply concepts understand them more deeply and score better on tests than those who make do with a theoretical overview alone, according to a new UChicago-led study. [2] The learning by doing methodology uses immediate practical application of subject matter including field trips, virtual simulations, lab visits and group activities.

2. Make Collaboration a Part of Learning

Collaborative projects are an excellent way to develop a student's interpersonal, time management and organisation skills. Group activities can include debates, presentations, reports and brainstorming sessions in multiple variations to help students understand what they're good at and what to improve upon.

3. Recognise Strengths and Weaknesses

If a student clearly shows an aptitude for languages, extra-curricular activities such as elocution and debating must be encouraged. On the other hand, if a student is struggling with one particular topic, for example, Algebra, additional learning resources can be shared with the student via a Wikispace classroom. [3] Also, students can learn from each other when provided the right opportunity such as assessed group projects.

4. Turn PC Enabled Learning into a Habit

PC enabled learning helps students to access knowledge faster and facilitate an in-depth learning of subject matter. [4] Right from simulations to online tools, PCs offer a wide variety of learning resources. As opposed to rote learning, students understand subject matter on a deeper level, helping them retain information faster and for a longer time, which is advantageous to both teacher and student.

Teachers have new learning experiences every day and small steps go a long way. The implementation of these techniques will help improve the classroom experience and inculcate a genuine love for learning within students.
